Locums – Dallas, Texas, NP/PA Surgical Critical Care Job 

Location: Dallas, Texas
Schedule: Weekend day coverage, 0600 – 1800
Start Date: ASAP

Required Credentials

• Nurse Practitioner: Acute Care Adult Certification – REQUIRED
• Physician Assistant: Board Certified or meets Texas standard to practice – REQUIRED
• Texas License – REQUIRED
• Board Eligible: Yes
• ATLS – REQUIRED

Experience

• Inpatient consultation coverage for general surgery and level 3 trauma adult patient populations
• NP or PA (PA preferred, but NP acceptable)
• No FA duties required

---

Patient Volume & Responsibilities

• Variable volume: consultations, follow-ups, pre/post-operative consults, rounding with physicians
• APP performs discharges
• Basic bedside procedures only (dressing changes, drain management)
• No OR procedures required

---

Schedule & Coverage

• Weekend day coverage only: Saturday and Sunday
• All weekends per month
• Possible ongoing coverage past June

---

Practice Environment

• Inpatient, Acute Care – Surgical Specialties
• EMR: eClinicalWorks (EcW)
• Support Staff: Nursing
• Supervising Physicians: Several physicians, trauma call schedule covered by 7 providers
