Position Overview
- Role: Full-Time Hospitalist Neurosurgeon
- Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan
- Schedule: 7-on / 7-off hospitalist schedule
- Employment Type: Permanent position (not locums)
- Setting: Level II Trauma Center
- Join a high-performing Neurosurgery Program with strong referral network
- Predictable 7-on / 7-off schedule supporting work-life balance
- Practice at a Level II Trauma Center with advanced imaging and modern surgical suites
- Comprehensive cranial and spine case mix

- 7-on / 7-off hospitalist schedule (full 7-day blocks)
- Weekend coverage included during scheduled work weeks
- Call responsibilities aligned with hospitalist schedule
- Perform the full spectrum of cranial and spinal neurosurgical procedures
- Provide inpatient and outpatient neurosurgical consultations and follow-up care
- Interpret advanced imaging (MRI, CT, angiography)
- Collaborate with neurologists, neurointerventionalists, trauma teams, and other specialties
- Participate in trauma and spine coverage
- Renowned Neurosurgery Program with strong outcomes in brain and spine surgery
- Blue Cross Blue Shield Spine Surgery Center of Excellence designation
- Access to:
- Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Level 4 Epilepsy Center
- Movement Disorder Clinic
- Work alongside three employed neurosurgeons in a collaborative team
- Primary practice location at the Grand Rapids hospital campus
- Board Eligible or Board Certified – Required
- New graduates accepted (must obtain board certification within 2 years)
- Not accepting candidates with lapsed board certification
