Clinical Scope & Procedures

Core Interventional Radiology Procedures:

• Diagnostic & therapeutic vascular interventions (angiography, angioplasty, stenting, thrombolysis, embolization)
• Non-neuro interventional procedures
• Vascular access devices, central lines, PICCs, port-a-cath insertions
• IVC filters, TIPS, percutaneous biopsies (above/below diaphragm, bone)
• Aspiration/drainage, thoracentesis, paracentesis, abscess drainage
• Pain management, joint/epidural injections, vertebroplasty, arthrograms
• Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram, blood patch, chest tube insertion
• Uterine artery embolization, liver Y90/TACE, gastrostomy tube insertion, nephrostomy/ureteral stent insertion, renal fistulograms
• Cryoablation

Preferred but Not Required: Neuro (head) stroke thrombectomy

• Typical Procedure Volume: 10–15 per 8-hour day
• Diagnostics Reading: Not required between cases

• Call frequency varies; generally only for emergencies
• ND license required prior to start; credentialing paperwork must be completed before start
• Flexible IR coverage for a short-term locum
