Practice Details

NICU Environment

  • State-of-the-art 70-bed Level III NICU
  • Modern 50,000 sq. ft. NICU facility opened in 2019
  • One of Georgia’s six designated perinatal/neonatal regional centers
  • Located within a Level I Trauma Center

Advanced NICU Capabilities

  • High-frequency ventilation
  • Inhaled nitric oxide
  • Total body cooling

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Management of critically ill and premature newborns
  • Advanced neonatal intensive care
  • Participation in evidence-based care initiatives
  • Quality improvement involvement
  • No newborn nursery responsibilities

Team Structure

  • 7 Neonatologists
  • 6 Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs)
  • Pediatric subspecialists
  • Pediatric surgery support
  • Maternal-fetal medicine collaboration

Coverage & Scheduling

  • Shared call schedule
  • Collaborative rounding structure
