License & Certification Requirements
Required
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Interventional Pain Medicine
- Fellowship-trained (ACGME-accredited)
- Background in Anesthesiology or PM&R accepted
Practice Details
Clinical Responsibilities
- Perform “bread-and-butter” interventional procedures, including:
- Medial Branch Blocks (MBB)
- Radiofrequency Ablations (RFAs)
- Spinal cord stimulator trials
- Medication management when clinically appropriate
- Consults handled via answering service; no formal call schedule
- Work alongside other physicians, APPs, RNs, LPNs, and MAs depending on site
Patient Volume & Case Mix
- Chronic pain management referrals
- Outpatient-focused procedures
- Flexible procedural expectations based on provider skill set
Compensation & Benefits
- 1099 contractor position
- Two-year guaranteed income
- Post-guarantee: collections-based model (100% professional fees minus direct expenses)
