Shift Type

• 24-hour in-house call coverage (OB & GYN ED)

Call Requirements

• No clinic or office responsibilities
• Provider not required to stay in-house
• Must remain within 20-minute response time

Specialty

• Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN)

Board Certification

• Board Certified OB/GYN highly preferred
• Board Eligible accepted if:
  • Currently credentialed at another Joint Commission–accredited hospital without monitoring

Training

• OB/GYN residency required
• IM or Family Medicine background acceptable if OB/GYN trained per requirements

License

• Active California medical license required

Certifications

• BLS required
• DEA required
• NRP highly preferred (required during credentialing preferred)
• PALS highly preferred

Location Preference

• Local candidates strongly preferred

Setting

• Inpatient / Emergency Department OB coverage
• Full scope OB/GYN practice (no clinic duties)

Patient Volume

• 16–20 patients per day
• ~40 deliveries per month (varies)

NICU

• No NICU on-site

Clinical Responsibilities

• Full scope OB/GYN emergency and inpatient coverage
• Vaginal deliveries
• Cesarean sections
• Gynecologic surgeries
• OB/GYN emergency department consults

• Dedicated Medical Assistant (MA)
• Practice Manager support

• Permanent provider reducing coverage leading to locum need
• High-acuity OB/GYN ED call structure
• 24-hour shift-based coverage model
• Must maintain rapid response availability within 20 minutes during call period
