• Minimum Coverage Requirement:
  • Clinic and reads coverage for 1–2 weeks per month (Monday–Friday)
• Preferred Coverage:
  • Clinic, reads, weeknight call, and weekend call coverage for 1–2 weeks per month

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Board Certified in Cardiology – Required
• Pennsylvania Medical License – Required
• IMLC Accepted (must have IMLC in hand and listed upon presentation)
• DEA License – Required
• ACLS Certification – Required
• BLS Certification – Required

Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year of Cardiology experience

Required Procedures & Skills

• Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE)
• Cardioversions
• Inpatient Consultations
• Cardiac Imaging Interpretation/Reads
• Stress Test Proctoring (occasional)

Schedule

• Monday–Friday:
  • Clinic: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Weeknight Call: 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM
• Saturday–Sunday:
  • 24-Hour Call Coverage (8:00 AM – 8:00 AM)

Call Details

• In-house and telephone call
• 30-minute response time required
• Average of 5 admissions while on call
• Most calls can be managed remotely
• In-person call-back is uncommon and generally limited to urgent cases requiring stat TEE evaluation

Practice Setting

• Hospital-based Cardiology coverage
• Provider works independently
• Morning support from PA-C/Mid-Level provider (typically 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
• Trauama Level II

Patient Volume

• Average Daily Census: 3–10 patients
• Average New Consults: 5–6 per day
• Patient Population:
  • Adults: 98%
  • Pediatrics: 2%

Position Overview

Seeking a Board-Certified Cardiologist for ongoing locum coverage providing inpatient rounding, consultations, diagnostic interpretation, procedures, and call coverage in a hospital-based setting.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Perform TEEs and Cardioversions
• Conduct inpatient rounds and consultations
• Interpret cardiac imaging and diagnostic studies
• Proctor stress tests as needed
• Manage call responsibilities including telephone triage and urgent evaluations
• Collaborate with advanced practice providers and multidisciplinary specialty teams
