Locum Hematology/Oncology Physician – Towson, Maryland

Clinical Role

We are seeking Board Certified Hematologists/Oncologists for an urgent locum tenens opportunity in Towson, Maryland.

• Coverage needed December 2026–March 2027

• Seeking 2 full-time providers for consistent weekly coverage

• Full-time schedule: 4 clinic days per week + one 24-hour weekday call

• Additional need for 1–4 weekend call shifts per month

• Weekend call is structured as every 4th weekend, from Friday at 8:00 AM through Monday at 8:00 AM

• Will also consider providers who can commit to 1–2 clinic days per week plus one weekend call per month

• Physician must be comfortable working independently

• Full and temporary privileges available

• Candidates must be able to complete credentialing promptly

• No significant background, licensing, or other issues that could delay approval or onboarding

• EPIC experience must be included when presenting candidates

Schedule & Coverage

Clinic

• Monday–Thursday

• 8:30 AM–4:00 PM

• Approximately 12–15 patients per day

• New patient consultations and follow-up appointments

Weekday Call

• One designated weekday per week includes:

  • Scheduled clinic

  • Coverage of all new inpatient oncology consults

  • 24-hour weekday call assignment

• Call includes in-house and telephone coverage

Weekend Call

• Every 4th weekend

• Friday at 8:00 AM through Monday at 8:00 AM

• Average admissions while on call: approximately 5

Practice Details

• Physician will manage oncology inpatients admitted under their service during clinic hours, Monday–Friday

• Inpatient APP support available during standard daytime hours for inpatient and consultative services

• Approximately 12–15 patients per day

• New patient consultations and follow-ups

• EMR: EPIC Beacon

Requirements

• Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology

• Active IMLC required

• Comfortable practicing independently

• EPIC experience preferred and must be noted on candidate presentation

• Ability to complete credentialing in a timely manner

• No significant background, licensing, or other issues that could impact onboarding

Coverage Options

The facility is seeking:

• 2 full-time providers available 4 days per week, with one 24-hour weekday call assignment

• Providers able to provide 1–4 weekend call shifts per month

• Providers who can commit to 1–2 clinic days per week plus one weekend call per month will also be considered

Assignment Timeline

• December 2026–March 2027
