Clinical Role

Join an established emergency department in Loxahatchee, Florida, providing emergency medicine coverage in a high-volume ED with strong physician and APP support. This locums opportunity offers structured shifts with required onboarding and EMR training for providers without prior system experience.

Assignment Details

Duration:

• 3 months

Onboarding Requirements:

• Typically 2 shadow shifts
• Providers without Expanse EMR experience: 3 shadow shifts plus 2-hour EMR training

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

Practice Setting:

• Emergency Department

Patient Volume:

• 1.8–2.0 patients per hour

Admission Rate:

• 26–30%

Shift Details:

• Typically 10-hour shifts
• Primarily PM coverage needed

Staffing Model:

• 3–4 physicians per shift
• 3 APPs per shift
• Full emergency department support staff

Patient Population:

• Adult patients only (no pediatrics; dedicated pediatric unit available separately)

Support & Technology

EMR Training:

• Expanse EMR system (training required if not previously experienced)

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine – Required
• Minimum 6 months of emergency medicine experience – Required
• Experience in high-volume ED setting – Required
• Ability to complete required shadow shifts and EMR training – Required
