OB Hospitalist Locums – Petoskey, MI

Availability

• Start Date: August 15, 2026
• Assignment Length: Through December 31, 2026
• Providers Needed: 2
• Coverage Model: 24-hour hospital coverage with up to 6 hours of direct patient care
• Weekday Schedule: Monday–Friday with night call
• Weekend Schedule: 24-hour call
• Travel: Candidates requiring flights will be considered if able to work 5 or more consecutive days

Licenses & Certifications

• Michigan Medical License: Active and required
• Board Certification: Board Certified in OB/GYN required
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of OB/GYN experience required
• Candidate Preference: Local Michigan providers preferred by the client

Practice Details

• Location: Petoskey, MI
• Setting: Outpatient clinic with inpatient Labor & Delivery coverage
• EMR: Cerner
• Average Clinic Volume: 6–8 outpatient patients per day
• Average Deliveries: Approximately 1.5 per day

Coverage Responsibilities

24/7 hospital coverage includes:

• Labor & Delivery
• Emergency Department
• Surgical coverage
• Acute and urgent surgical needs
• Emergent clinic consults to determine hospital admission

Required Procedures

• Prenatal care
• Vaginal deliveries
• Cesarean sections (C-sections)
• Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC)

Support Staff

• 2 Nurse Practitioners

Ideal Candidate

• Board Certified OB/GYN
• Active Michigan medical license
• Minimum 2 years of OB/GYN experience
• Comfortable providing 24-hour call coverage with clinic responsibilities
• Experienced with Labor & Delivery and routine OB procedures
• Able to work 5+ consecutive day blocks if travel is required
