Locums – Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan (Upper Peninsula) – NP/PA Hospitalist Job

Locum tenens opportunity
Seeking a board certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Start ASAP with ongoing coverage
Due to travel-related logistics, only candidates residing in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, or Ohio will be considered
Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Required 7-on/7-off rotation beginning August 17, 2026
Providers must be able to work the exact schedule:
- Aug. 17–23
- Aug. 31–Sept. 6
- Sept. 14–20
- Sept. 28–Oct. 4
- Oct. 12–18
- Oct. 26–Nov. 1
- Nov. 9–15
- Nov. 23–29
- Dec. 7–13
- Dec. 21–27
Procedural responsibilities include:
- Endotracheal intubation/extubation
- Ventilator management and weaning
- Central venous catheter placement
- Arterial line placement/removal
- Chest tube insertion
- Lumbar puncture
- Paracentesis
- Moderate sedation
- Tracheostomy care and tube changes
- External pacing management
- Emergent management of tension pneumothorax
- Indirect laryngoscopy intubation
Supervising physician available on call within 20 minutes
EMR: Epic with Dragon dictation
Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
Must provide 50 relevant procedure case logs from the past 12 months
Credentialing typically takes about 30 days, with expedited processing based on start date
