Locums – Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan (Upper Peninsula) – NP/PA Hospitalist Job

Clinical Role:

• Seeking a board certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Start ASAP with ongoing coverage
• Due to travel-related logistics, only candidates residing in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, or Ohio will be considered
• 7 on / 7 off schedule
• Current coverage needs:
  • September 22–28
  • October 6–12
  • October 20–26
  • November 3–9
  • November 17–23
• Schedule: 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on-site with 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. night call
• One day of orientation during the week of September 14
• Supervising physician available on call within 20 minutes
• EMR: Epic with Dragon dictation
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Must provide 50 relevant procedure case logs from the past 12 months
• Required core privileges (no proctoring required):
  • Moderate sedation
  • Arterial line insertion and removal
  • Central venous line placement
  • Endotracheal intubation and extubation
  • Ventilator management, including assessing readiness for respiratory weaning, oxygen therapy, extubation, and need for intubation
• Optional privileges (must have completed five proctored cases for each requested procedure):
  • Lumbar puncture
  • Chest tube insertion
  • PICC line placement
  • Paracentesis
  • Thoracentesis
  • Tracheostomy care and tube changes
  • Emergent management of tension pneumothorax
  • External pacing (temporary epicardial, transvenous, or transcutaneous pacemakers)
• Credentialing typically takes about 30 days, with expedited processing based on start date
