Locum Tenens – Inpatient Psychiatrist Opportunity in Upstate New York
Position Overview
We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist to provide locum tenens coverage for an inpatient facility in Upstate New York.
Coverage Needs:
Start: September 18th - October 30th
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
Call: Weekend and weeknight call available, but not required
Setting: Inpatient psychiatry with some floor consults
Patient population: Primarily adults, with select cases involving adolescents in a 13-bed crisis center
Practice Environment
Team: 2 full-time Psychiatrists and 2 Psychiatric NPs (Experienced and tenured)
30-bed unit with an average daily census of 25
13-bed crisis center with an average daily census of 5–10
Required:
Comfort level within a 30-bed "Locked" Inpatient Psychiatry Unit
Average caseload: approx. 12 patients per day
EMR: Cerner
Requirements
Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Psychiatry
Active BLS, ACLS, and Infection Control Certification
Credentialing Requirements
Case logs from the past 2 years (If applicable to specialty)
Active DEA license.
Certificates of insurance covering the last 10 years.
Employment verification for the past 10 years.
Hospital privileges for the last 10 years.
Three clinical references from the past 6 months (at least one from leadership).
Additional certifications: BLS, ACLS, and Infection Control.
Must be credentialed with Medicare & Medicaid
No Negative Background Issues - Malpractice or License Issues
