Availability

• Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
• Flexible scheduling available
• Shared call and holiday rotation
• Combination of:
  • In-house clinical coverage
  • Home cardiac call
• Part-time providers participate in a prorated call schedule

Licensure & Certifications

• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
• Cardiac Anesthesiology Fellowship Training Preferred/Expected
• Michigan medical license (or eligible to obtain)
• DEA (if required for practice)

Required Experience

• Cardiac anesthesiology experience
• Comfortable personally performing cardiac anesthesia cases
• Experience with general anesthesia during non-cardiac weeks
• Experience with:
  • Cardiothoracic surgery
  • Structural heart procedures
  • Electrophysiology (EP)
  • Interventional cardiology
  • Complex vascular surgery
  • Neurosurgery
  • Orthopedic surgery (elective and trauma)
  • OB, ENT, and gynecologic procedures
• Regional anesthesia and peripheral nerve block experience preferred
• Interest in teaching residents and medical students
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Schedule

• Flexible full-time and part-time scheduling
• Shared home cardiac call
• Shared holiday rotation
• Practice includes both cardiac and general anesthesia coverage

Practice Details

• Single hospital practice
• Level II Trauma Center
• Physician-led anesthesia care team
• Opportunity to provide medical direction to CRNAs while also personally performing cases
• Broad mix of cardiac, general, and complex surgical cases
• Opportunity to participate in:
  • Resident and student education
  • Clinical leadership
  • Cardiac program development
  • Quality improvement initiatives
• EMR: Epic
