RecruitWell is assisting a growing healthcare organization in the Phoenix area with the recruitment of a Regional Medical Director. This leadership role is ideal for a physician passionate about value-based care, population health, and multi-site clinical operations. The Regional Medical Director will partner closely with executive leadership to improve quality outcomes, standardize care delivery, and provide strategic oversight across multiple clinical centers.
Clinical Leadership
- Lead medical operations across multiple outpatient clinical centers in the Phoenix area
- Drive success in value-based care initiatives, including HEDIS, MIPS, RAF accuracy, quality metrics, and shared savings programs
- Develop and implement clinical policies, protocols, and best practices
- Collaborate with managed care organizations to achieve quality, utilization, and financial goals
- Oversee disease management programs, clinical documentation, risk adjustment, and care planning
- Monitor quality outcomes and appropriateness of care across all assigned locations
Operations & Financial Leadership
- Standardize workflows and clinical processes across multiple sites
- Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, provider productivity, and operational planning
- Present regional performance reports focused on quality, operational efficiency, and value-based outcomes
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, infection control, emergency preparedness, and regulatory requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve operational performance across regional clinics
Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, mentor, and evaluate physicians and advanced practice providers
- Supervise Local Medical Directors across the region
- Provide professional oversight for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants
- Lead provider education, onboarding, and professional development
- Address provider performance, patient complaints, and adverse events while promoting a culture of continuous improvement
Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Unrestricted medical license in the applicable state
- Minimum of five years of clinical leadership experience
- Experience leading multiple practice locations strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success in value-based care models such as Medicare Advantage, ACOs, managed care, or risk-bearing contracts
- Minimum two years serving diverse, multicultural patient populations
- Bilingual English and Spanish required
- Strong knowledge of population health, healthcare analytics, quality improvement, and provider performance management
