Clinical Role

Join an established hospital in Sierra Vista, Arizona, providing general surgery call coverage during the holiday season. This locums opportunity offers in-house call coverage for assigned and unassigned patients within a collaborative, Stroke Certified, Level III Trauma Center. Providers holding an active Arizona license or those eligible through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) are encouraged to apply.

• December 22, 2026 (7:00 AM) – January 4, 2027 (7:00 AM)

Holiday call coverage

Schedule:

24-hour in-house call coverage

• 30-minute call response time required

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

Practice Setting:

Hospital-Based

30-bed facility

Patient Population:

Adult general surgery patients

Clinical Volume:

• Approximately 5 patients seen
• Approximately 3 phone consults
• Approximately 2 admissions
• Call ratio: 5

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive general surgery call coverage
• Evaluate and manage assigned and unassigned surgical patients
• Perform emergency general surgery procedures as needed
• Complete hospital admissions
• Respond within 30 minutes when required
• Collaborate with emergency medicine, anesthesia, and hospital staff
• Document patient care using Cerner EMR

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery – Required
• Active Arizona Medical License – Required
