Locums - Port St. Lucie, Florida | Emergency Medicine Opportunity
Clinical Role
Join an established emergency medicine team providing coverage at two freestanding emergency departments (FSEDs) serving the Port St. Lucie and Stuart, Florida communities. This eight-month locums opportunity offers a mix of day and night 12-hour shifts while caring for pediatric and adult patients in a collaborative emergency medicine environment.

Coverage at both freestanding emergency departments
Schedule:
12-hour shifts
Both AM and PM coverage needed
Providers will rotate between day and night shifts.
Orientation:
- Two shadow shifts
- EMR training

Clinical Details & Responsibilities
Practice Setting:
Freestanding Emergency Departments (FSEDs)
Coverage split between the Port St. Lucie and Stuart locations
Patient Population:
Pediatric and Adult
Patient Acuity:
Primarily ESI Level 3 and Level 4
Occasional Level 2 patients
Emergency Department Capacity:
10–11 treatment bays
Patient Volume:
Approximately 0.5–2 patients per hour
Admission Rate:
Approximately 2–3%
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and treat emergency department patients
- Manage pediatric and adult emergency conditions
- Perform emergency procedures as clinically indicated
- Coordinate patient care with nursing and ancillary staff
- Document patient encounters within the facility EMR
- Rotate between both freestanding emergency department locations
- Participate in both day and night shift coverage
Support & Technology
Support Staff:
- Registered Nurses
- Radiology staff
Triage Model:
No dedicated nurse or APP triage for lower-acuity patients
EMR System:
EMR training provided during orientation
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine – Required
