Clinical Role
Join an established hospital-based cardiology program in Fort Smith, Arkansas, providing inpatient non-invasive cardiology services. This long-term locums opportunity seeks two general cardiologists to share a 7-on/7-off schedule while managing inpatient consultations, hospital admissions, and call coverage within a collaborative cardiovascular team.
Assignment Details
Start Date:
As soon as credentialed
Contract Length:
ASAP through December 31, 2027
Coverage Requirements:
Two locum providers
7 days on / 7 days off rotation
Day shifts only
Schedule:
Seven consecutive daytime shifts
Alternating weekly coverage
Call Schedule:
- In-house call
- Approximately 20+ calls while on call
- Approximately 10 phone consults
- Call response time: within 15 minutes

Patient Population:
Adult inpatient cardiology patients
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient non-invasive cardiology services
- Perform hospital rounds
- Complete inpatient cardiology consultations
- Manage assigned and unassigned patients
- Evaluate and admit cardiology patients as needed
- Respond to inpatient cardiology call
- Complete phone consultations
- Collaborate with hospitalists and specialty teams
- Document patient care using Epic EMR

- Board Certified in Cardiology – Required
- Active Arkansas Medical License – Required
