Clinical Role

Join a brand-new Medical Oncology and Hematology practice opening in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, providing comprehensive outpatient oncology and hematology care while supporting inpatient consultations as needed. This full-time locums opportunity offers a consistent weekday schedule with optional call coverage and the opportunity to help establish a growing community-based cancer program alongside an employed physician.

Coverage Requirements:

Full-time preferred

Monday–Friday

Four days per week will also be considered.

8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Call Schedule:

  • Scheduled clinic coverage
  • On-call coverage is optional
  • Weeknight and weekend call approximately 1:2 if participating

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

Practice Setting:

Clinic and Hospital

Clinic located inside the hospital

131-bed hospital

Patient Population:

Adults (18+)

Patient Volume:

Approximately 10 patients per day initially

Expected to grow as the practice expands

Case Mix:

  • Approximately 60% Oncology
  • Approximately 40% Hematology

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and treat adult hematology and oncology patients
  • Provide comprehensive outpatient cancer care
  • Manage benign and malignant hematologic disorders
  • Develop individualized treatment plans
  • Perform follow-up visits
  • Provide inpatient consultations when needed
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams
  • Document patient care using Epic EMR

Support & Technology

Support Staff:

  • One employed Hematology/Oncology physician
  • Two front office staff
  • Registered Nurse
  • Medical Assistant
  • Nurse Navigator
  • Additional support personnel

EMR System:

Epic

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Oncology – Required
  • Active Pennsylvania Medical License or IMLC Letter of Qualification (LOQ) required for presentation
  • DEA Registration – Required
