Locums – Lawrence, Massachusetts – Nocturnist Job

Clinical Role

• Seeking a board certified or truly board eligible Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician
• Start ASAP – ongoing
• Approximately 15–20 night shifts available per month across two local hospitals
• Physicians must be available for at least 5 shifts per month to be considered
• PRN and part-time opportunities available
• Credentialing at both hospital sites
• Credentialing timeframe: approximately 2 months
• You will work at one hospital per shift (most openings are at one primary facility)
• Schedule: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Average 6–12 admissions per night
• Admitter (physician or nurse practitioner) works until 10:00 PM
• Two nocturnists provide overnight coverage from 10:00 PM–7:00 AM
• ICU admissions required with patient management supported by eICU and ICU Nurse Practitioner
• No procedures required
• One nocturnist manages admissions while the other provides cross-coverage
• Respond to Code Blues and Rapid Response Teams; the Emergency Department performs all required interventions and procedures
• Typical overnight cross-coverage includes approximately 20 floor calls/messages, averaging one rapid response per night and one to two Code Blues per month
• Must have (or be willing to obtain):
  • Massachusetts CDS
  • Federal DEA with a Massachusetts address
• EMR: Meditech
