Hospital-Employed | Permanent Position | Premier Coastal Florida Location
A cardiovascular ICU in Daytona Beach is seeking a motivated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join its growing CVICU team as a dedicated Nocturnist. This role is ideal for an APP who thrives in a high-acuity critical care environment and enjoys providing overnight management for complex post?operative cardiac and thoracic surgery patients.
Clinical Responsibilities
Provide overnight management of post-operative cardiac and thoracic surgery patients in the CVICU
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop and adjust treatment plans, and respond to acute changes in patient condition
Participate in emergency response and provide timely interventions for critically ill patients
Collaborate closely with on-call cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, nursing, respiratory therapy, and the broader multidisciplinary team
Perform procedures as credentialed, which may include:
Central venous catheter placement
Arterial line placement
Endotracheal intubation
Dialysis catheter placement
Other bedside critical care procedures
Schedule
Schedule: 7-on / 7-off | Nights, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Candidate Requirements
Master’s degree as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C).
Current Florida license (or ability to obtain).
National board certification (ACNP preferred for Nurse Practitioners).
Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in CVICU, cardiothoracic surgery, or critical care preferred; strong ICU background considered.
Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
Hands-on experience with advanced ICU procedures
