Locums – South Charleston, West Virginia – NP/PA Urgent Care Job

Clinical Role:

• Locum tenens opportunity
• Seeking a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with Urgent Care experience
• Start date: November 2026
• Minimum of 2 years of urgent care experience or 1 year of emergency medicine experience required
• Must be comfortable treating patients of all ages, including pediatrics (6 months and older)
• Must be comfortable with orthopedic procedures, including splinting, and wound care
• Schedule: Monday-Sunday, 8:00a-8:00p
• Provider will travel between South Charleston, Charleston Patrick Street Bridge, and Charleston Kanawha City (sites are within approximately 30 miles of one another)
• Must be comfortable practicing independently (no onsite supervision)
• Average patient volume: 3-4 patients per hour
• Typical urgent care cases include:
  • Cold and flu symptoms
  • Rashes
  • Abrasions and lacerations
  • Sprains
  • Minor burns
  • Splinting
  • X-rays and EKGs
  • Drawing blood and IVs
  • Incision and drainage procedures
• Higher-acuity patients are referred to the local emergency department
• Medical assistants and radiology technologists onsite
• Sites staffed by 1-3 providers daily
• Remote physician available for consultation when no physician is onsite
• EMR: Epic
