Clinical Role
Join an established cardiology program in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, providing full-time interventional cardiology coverage in both the outpatient clinic and hospital settings. This ongoing locums opportunity offers an established patient panel, inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, and the opportunity to work with a collaborative multidisciplinary team. Physicians interested in a long-term commitment are preferred. IMLC physicians are welcome.
Assignment Details
Start Date: 12/1/26

- Long-term assignment preferred
- Full-time
- Minimum three weeks per month – flexible on actual weeks
- Clinic and 24-hour call responsiblities
- Monday–Friday
- 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Five clinic days per week when not on hospital service
- Approximately every 5–6 weeks
- Established patient panel
- One weekly clinic reading day
- During hospital service, clinic reading responsibilities are reassigned to another cardiologist

Practice Setting:
- Hospital and Outpatient Clinic
- Inpatient cardiology care
- Daily rounding
- Cardiology consultations
- Multidisciplinary rounds
- Communication with referring providers
- Interpretation of all hospital diagnostic studies during the assigned service week
- Read diagnostic studies
- Monday–Friday outpatient clinic
- Manage an established panel of patients
- On-site clinic visits
- Review diagnostic studies ordered through clinic
- Follow-up communication with patients
- Coordinate care with imaging and testing teams
- Maintain active supervising physician status
- Serve as the locum tenens supervising physician for Physician Assistants
EMR System:
- EPIC
- Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology required
- Fellowship training required
- Active Louisiana Medical License required
- IMLC accepted
- ACLS Required
- Active supervising physician status required for Physician Assistant oversight
- Professional Corporation Fund (PCF) and Certificate of Insurance (COI) must provide 100% coverage with no gaps and align with assignment dates
- Please inquire for current credentialing timeline – 3-4 months to credential
