Locums - Tyler, Texas, NP/PA CVT Surgery Opening 

Clinical Role

Join a high-acuity Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery team in Tyler, Texas, providing inpatient coverage for critically ill cardiac and thoracic surgery patients. This ongoing locums opportunity offers both day and night shifts in a Level I Trauma Center while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary surgical team.

Assignment Details

Assignment Length:

• Ongoing

Schedule:

• 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Days)
• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Nights)
• Coverage needed 7 days per week
• Both day and night providers needed

Position Highlights

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

Practice Setting:

• Inpatient Hospital

Patient Volume:

• Average of 10–15 patients on the service at any given time

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Round on patients in the Cardiovascular ICU
• Manage pre- and post-operative cardiac surgery patients
• Care for patients recovering from open-heart surgery
• Manage patients following VATS and lung procedures
• Assist with ventilator management and post-operative critical care
• Collaborate with cardiovascular surgeons, intensivists, nursing staff, and ancillary teams
• Participate in admissions as needed
• Document patient care using Epic EMR

• Epic

Facility Details:

• Level I Trauma Center
• Hospital Stroke Certified

Requirements

• Board Certified NP or PA with CVT Surgery experience required
• Active Texas license required
• Compact license accepted
• ACLS required
• BLS required
• Fellowship preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Operating Room experience strongly preferred
• Vein harvesting experience strongly preferred

Credentialing
