Availability Requirements

Required

• 24-hour call shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
• Orientation: October 2 or morning of October 3
• Coverage Dates:
  • October 3 (AM) – October 11 (AM), 2026
  • March 6 (AM) – March 15 (AM), 2027
• No clinic coverage
• Call-only assignment

Licenses, Certifications & Qualifications

Required License

• Active Texas Medical License

Required Board Certification

• Board Certified OB/GYN

Required Training

• OB/GYN Residency

Required Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of OB/GYN experience

Practice Details

• Hospital-based OB call coverage
• Approximately 4–5 patients per day
• 40–50 deliveries per month
• No scheduled inductions unless supporting the Certified Nurse Midwife
• Few high-risk pregnancies
• Level II NICU with onsite Neonatologist
• Maternal-Fetal Medicine support available by phone
• High-risk patients over 34 weeks are generally transferred
• One Certified Nurse Midwife
• Hospitalist, Pediatricians, Intensivist, and Anesthesia support available

Clinical Responsibilities

• Labor & Delivery coverage
• Emergency Department OB/GYN coverage
• Hospital consultations
• Management of spontaneous labor
• Backup coverage for Certified Nurse Midwife as needed
• Vaginal deliveries
• Cesarean sections
• Emergency gynecologic surgery, including:
  • Dilation & Curettage (D&C)
  • Ectopic pregnancy surgery
  • Laparoscopic procedures
  • Robotic gynecologic procedures
