Availability Requirements

Required

• Approximately 6–7 shifts per month with potential for additional coverage
• 24-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
• Call coverage required
• In-house and beeper/phone call coverage
• Daily midwife call coverage

Licenses, Certifications & Qualifications

Required License

• Active Kentucky Medical License or
• Active Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)

Required Board Certification

• Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology (American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology)

Required Certifications

• BLS
• DEA

Practice Details

• 100% inpatient hospital-based practice
• Average 1–6 patients per day
• Onsite laboratory and ultrasound
• Labor & Delivery support
• Midwives manage and deliver their own patients
• Nursery Level II
• Approximately 700–800 deliveries annually
• Approximately 140–190 Labor & Delivery triage visits per month
• Low C-section volume

Clinical Responsibilities

• Routine vaginal deliveries
• Operative vaginal deliveries (including low forceps)
• Clinical decision-making for Cesarean sections
• Complicated deliveries, including:
  • Cesarean sections
  • Breech deliveries
  • Multiple gestations
  • Placental abruptions
• VBAC management
• Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations
