Radiation Oncology Locums – Duluth, MN

Assignment Details

• Practice Setting: Hospital-Based Radiation Oncology
• Start Date: October 1, 2026
• End Date: January 31, 2027
• Providers Needed: 1 Full-Time
• Schedule:
  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: Consults, Follow-Ups, and CT Simulations
  • Tuesday: OTV (On-Treatment Visits)
  • Clinic Hours: 7:30 AM–4:30 PM
  • Treatment Hours: 7:30 AM–4:30 PM
• Call: None

Clinical Responsibilities

• Inpatient and outpatient consultations
• Follow-up visits
• CT simulation orders
• Treatment planning
• Critical structure contouring
• Radiation therapy prescriptions
• Plan review and approval
• Imaging orders and review
• Collaboration with multidisciplinary oncology team
• Participation in chart rounds, peer review, and tumor conferences

Patient Information

• Patients Under Treatment: 10–16 per physician daily
• Consults: 2–3 per day (4 days per week)
• Follow-Ups: Approximately 10–12 per week
• CT Simulations: 3–5 per day across the department
• Consult Length: 60 minutes
• Follow-Up Length: 30 minutes

• 4 Radiation Oncologists (Duluth)
• 1 Radiation Oncologist (Ashland)
• 1.8 Medical Physicists (including remote support)
• 3 Medical Dosimetrists
• 7 Radiation Therapists
• 2 Registered Nurses
• Radiation Oncology Manager
• Clinic Assistant
• Scheduler

Locum physician will work alongside at least two Radiation Oncologists and will not practice independently.

Licenses & Certifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiation Oncology: Required
• Radiation Oncology Fellowship: Required
• BLS: Required

Additional Requirements

• Experience with Epic, Varian ARIA, Eclipse, and Varian TrueBeam required
• Must remain onsite during clinic operating hours
• Comfortable managing both inpatient and outpatient radiation oncology patients
