Availability

• Schedule: Monday–Friday
• Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Looking for provider to cover next 6-months until our full-time NP starts
• No inpatient rounding
• No hospital consult call
• Provider may need to stay until completion of the final chemotherapy/biotherapy treatment each day
• Saturday call rotation:
  • Approximately once every 3 months
  • Hours: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Required Licensure & Certifications

• Active Louisiana NP License — Required
  • Compact license candidates accepted
• BLS — Required
• Chemotherapy Certification — Required

Board & Experience Requirements

• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner — Required
• Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Training — Required
• 3–5 years of Hematology/Oncology experience — Required

Practice Setting

• High-volume outpatient Hematology/Oncology practice
• Outpatient infusion suite
• Complex oncology patient population with significant comorbidities
• No inpatient responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage a full panel of Hematology/Oncology patients
• Conduct treatment visits and follow-up appointments
• Evaluate select new patient consultations
• Coordinate complex patient care plans
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams

Patient Volume

• Approximately 10–12 patients per day
• Mix of:
  • Established oncology follow-ups
  • Treatment management visits
  • New patient evaluations

Practice Support

• Staffed with:
  • 1 Full-time Medical Oncologist
  • 1 Part-time Medical Oncologist
  • 2 Nurse Practitioners when fully staffed
• Strong clinical support team
• Dedicated outpatient infusion staff

Infusion & Technology Details

• EMR: EPIC
• Infusion capacity:
  • Main location: 16 infusion chairs
  • Additional location: 12 infusion chairs
  • Total department capacity: 74 infusion chairs
