• Provider will work as part of a multidisciplinary team

Required Licensure & Certifications

• Active North Carolina Medical License — Required
• DEA — Required
• BLS — Required

Board & Experience Requirements

• Board Certified in Hematology and/or Oncology — Required
  • Double board certification preferred
  • If managing oncology patients, Oncology Board Certification required
• 2–3+ years of Hematology/Oncology experience — Required

Practice Setting

• Ambulatory Hematology/Oncology clinic
• Acute Care Hospital environment
• Focus on benign hematology
• Approximately 60–65% hematology with monthly fluctuations
• Providers should be comfortable with general oncology cases

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate new patient consultations
• Manage established hematology patients
• Conduct follow-up visits
• Write orders and prescriptions
• Communicate with pharmacy team
• Coordinate patient care with multidisciplinary staff
• Manage bread-and-butter Hematology/Oncology cases

Patient Volume

• Minimum 15 patients per day
• Primarily hematology patients (non-oncology focused)

Support & Team

• 1–2 Hematology/Oncology physicians
• Advanced Practice Providers
• Nursing staff
• Oncology Nurse Navigator
• Administrative support
• Pharmacy support
• Infusion specialist
• Provider will not work entirely solo

Technology

• EMR: EPIC
  • Provider must complete an EPIC assessment prior to start
