Locums - Suffolk, Virginia | CRNA Opportunity
Clinical Role
Join a hospital in Suffolk, Virginia, providing CRNA coverage for outpatient surgical services with occasional obstetric and trauma cases. This locums opportunity offers a very limited call commitment, with a maximum of 1–2 shifts per month and most likely no call at all. CRNAs independently administer medications and perform neuraxial anesthesia procedures, including epidurals, spinals, and arterial lines.

Clinical Details & Responsibilities
Practice Setting:
Hospital
Primarily outpatient surgical services
Some obstetric and trauma cases
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Administer anesthesia medications independently
- Provide spinal anesthesia
- Place lumbar epidural catheters
- Place arterial catheters
- Provide anesthesia for outpatient surgical procedures
- Provide occasional obstetric anesthesia
- Provide occasional trauma anesthesia
- Participate in beeper call as required
Special Procedures
Performed:
- Epidurals
- Spinals
- Arterial lines
- Lumbar epidural catheters
- Arterial catheters
Not Performed:
- Brachial plexus blocks
- Other regional anesthesia blocks
Requirements
- Active Virginia Medical License – Required
- Virginia license must be in hand
- Some Level I Trauma experience – Required
- Obstetric experience – Preferred
- Trauma experience – Preferred
- OB and trauma experience not required but greatly preferred
Credentialing
Standard credentialing timeframe is approximately 90–120 days.
Emergency credentialing may be available in approximately 30–45 days.
