Clinical Role

Join an established hematology/oncology care team in Kalispell, Montana, providing outpatient and telehealth coverage alongside an MD. This ongoing locums opportunity supports a variety of oncology patients, including those receiving active treatment as well as surveillance and survivorship follow-up. The position includes weekday clinic coverage and first-call responsibilities for symptom support and treatment management.

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Call Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Coverage Requirements:

  • Outpatient and telehealth coverage
  • Weekday clinic schedule
  • First-call responsibilities for symptom support and treatment management
  • Forward complex cases to the MD for consultation as needed
  • 30-minute call response time required
  • Facility will accept multiple locum providers
  • Assigned and unassigned patients

Patient Volume:

Approximately 12 patients per shift

Patient Population:

  • On-treatment patients
  • Surveillance patients
  • Survivorship patients
  • Assigned and unassigned patients

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Provide outpatient hematology/oncology care
  • Participate in telehealth services
  • Evaluate and manage patients receiving active treatment
  • Provide surveillance and survivorship follow-up
  • Provide first-call symptom support
  • Assist with treatment management
  • Forward patients requiring physician consultation to the assigned MD
  • Collaborate with the assigned physician and care team
  • Respond to calls within the required 30-minute timeframe

Care Team Structure

Team Model:

Providers will be assigned to a care team with an MD.

The MD will be available for consultation when patient needs require physician involvement.

Call Responsibilities:

  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • First call for symptom support and treatment management
  • Forward cases to MD when consultation is needed
  • 30-minute response time required

Orientation

First Day:

Orientation from 8:00 AM–3:00 PM

Orientation & Overtime:

  • Orientation day is guaranteed 8 hours
  • Overtime does not begin until 10 hours

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible – Required
  • Active Montana Medical License – Required
  • Compact License – Accepted
  • 30-minute call response time required
