Clinical Role
Join an established Hematology/Oncology service in Providence, Rhode Island, providing Nurse Practitioner coverage in a combined outpatient and inpatient setting. This full-time opportunity begins October 5, 2026, with an initial 26-week assignment.
The provider will work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, caring for outpatient Hematology/Oncology patients while also providing daily inpatient rounding based on consult volume.

Practice Setting:

Inpatient Hospital
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Provide Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner coverage
- Evaluate and manage outpatient Hematology/Oncology patients
- See approximately 18–22 outpatient patients per day
- Provide daily inpatient rounding
- Spend approximately 1–2 hours rounding on inpatient patients based on consult volume
- Evaluate inpatient Hematology/Oncology consults
- Manage inpatient Hematology/Oncology patients
- Perform biopsies as needed
- Coordinate care with onsite Hematology/Oncology providers
- Communicate with the multidisciplinary care team
- Document patient care using paper records and Meditech

Support & Team
The Nurse Practitioner will work with an established Hematology/Oncology team, with Hematology/Oncology providers onsite in the clinic. The role includes both outpatient and inpatient responsibilities.

Requirements
- Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner – Required
- Rhode Island Nurse Practitioner license – Required
- DEA – Required
- CSR – Required
- Ability to provide outpatient and inpatient Hematology/Oncology care
- Ability to perform biopsies as needed
Credentialing
The facility will consider providers while the Rhode Island Medical/Nurse Practitioner license is being obtained.
The Rhode Island NP licensing process is expected to take approximately 4–8 weeks.
DEA and CSR are also required.
