Locums – Uniontown, Pennsylvania, Urgent Care NP/PA Job

Clinical Role

• Locum tenens opportunity

• Seeking a board certified nurse practitioner or physician assistant

• Seeking 5 FTE providers with urgent care or emergency medicine experience

• Schedule: Monday-Sunday, 8a-8p

• Providers will rotate between locations in Uniontown, Belle Vernon, Dunbar, and Mt. Pleasant

• Sites are no more than approximately 30 miles apart

• Drive-in candidates only – must reside within approximately a 2-3 hour driving radius

• Minimum experience required:

  • 2 years of urgent care experience, or

  • 1 year of emergency medicine experience

• Must be comfortable seeing patients of all ages, including pediatrics 6 months and older

• Must be willing and comfortable working independently

• Must be comfortable with:

  • Suturing, wound care, and I&Ds

  • Splinting and orthopedic procedures

  • X-rays and EKGs

  • Drawing blood and IVs

  • Pediatrics

  • Working independently

• Typical urgent care cases include:

  • Cold and flu symptoms

  • Rashes

  • Abrasions and lacerations

  • Sprains

  • Minor burns

  • Wound care and I&Ds

  • Splinting

  • X-rays and EKGs

• Higher-acuity patients will be referred to the local emergency department

• Average patient volume: 3-4 patients per hour

• Sites are staffed with approximately 1-3 providers per day

• If a physician is not onsite, a physician will be remotely available for escalation

• Medical assistants and radiology technicians onsite

• No call

• EMR: Epic

• When presenting candidates, please indicate whether the provider is comfortable with:

  • Suturing/Wound Care/I&Ds

  • Splinting

  • X-rays/EKGs

  • Drawing Blood/IVs

  • Working Independently

  • Pediatrics
