Locums - Springfield, Ohio | NP/PA Cardiothoracic Surgery Opening

Clinical Role

Provide inpatient Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery coverage for an ongoing need due to growth. The provider will assist in surgery, manage postoperative patients, and provide floor and call coverage.

Assignment Details

Initial Coverage:
September 8–18, 2026, with possible adjustment

Ongoing Need:
Approximately 1–2 weeks per month through 2027

Schedule:

• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Floor/beeper call, 3:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Weekend 24-hour onsite support and floor/OR call
• On call while on assignment
• Approximately 10 callback hours on weekends

Clinical Responsibilities

• Approximately 20–26 patients per day
• Cardiothoracic and vascular surgical assistance
• Postoperative patient management
• Emergency surgical support
• Vein harvesting and vascular tissue retrieval for bypass conduit
• Consults from ED, Cath Lab, and inpatient teams
• Rounding, testing, prescriptions, and care coordination
• Adult and geriatric patients

Practice Setting

• 100% inpatient
• Trauma Level II
• Epic EMR

Requirements

• Board Certified – Required
• Minimum 5 years of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery experience – Required
• Active Ohio license in hand – Required
• Active DEA – Required
• ACLS – Required
• Vein harvesting experience – Required
• Clean professional history with no malpractice or licensing issues – Required
