Locums - Paducah, Kentucky | Cardiothoracic Surgery Opening

Clinical Role

Seeking a Cardiac Surgeon for short-term hospital-based coverage. A strong cardiac surgery background is required; thoracic experience is preferred but not required.

Assignment Details

Coverage Dates:

Candidates must be available for one of the following:

• December 24–28, 2026 – Preferred
• December 28, 2026–January 4, 2027

Schedule:

• 24-hour coverage, 7:00 AM–7:00 AM
• Approximately 4–7 shifts per month
• 1–2 Cardiothoracic surgical cases per day
• Adult and geriatric patients

Clinical Responsibilities

• Adult cardiac surgery
• CABG, including arterial revascularization and redo cases
• Heart valve repair/replacement
• ICU management of high-risk cardiac patients
• Impella insertion, removal, and bailout
• Structural heart procedure support in Hybrid OR/Cath Lab
• General thoracic procedures preferred but not required

Support & Practice Setting

• Hospital-based
• 1 Heart OR and 1 Hybrid OR
• First Assist with endoscopic saphenous vein harvest experience
• Dedicated Cardiothoracic anesthesia support
• Collaborative ICU team
• Epic EMR

Requirements

• Board Certified – Required
• Adult Cardiac Surgery experience – Required
• Impella support – Required
• Structural Heart support – Required
• BLS – Required
• Kentucky license preferred; willing to license
• Clean professional history – Required
