Locums - Paducah, Kentucky | Cardiothoracic Surgery Opening
Clinical Role
Seeking a Cardiac Surgeon for short-term hospital-based coverage. A strong cardiac surgery background is required; thoracic experience is preferred but not required.
Assignment Details
Coverage Dates:
Candidates must be available for one of the following:
- December 24–28, 2026 – Preferred
- December 28, 2026–January 4, 2027
Schedule:
- 24-hour coverage, 7:00 AM–7:00 AM
- Approximately 4–7 shifts per month
- 1–2 Cardiothoracic surgical cases per day
- Adult and geriatric patients
Clinical Responsibilities
- Adult cardiac surgery
- CABG, including arterial revascularization and redo cases
- Heart valve repair/replacement
- ICU management of high-risk cardiac patients
- Impella insertion, removal, and bailout
- Structural heart procedure support in Hybrid OR/Cath Lab
- General thoracic procedures preferred but not required
Support & Practice Setting
- Hospital-based
- 1 Heart OR and 1 Hybrid OR
- First Assist with endoscopic saphenous vein harvest experience
- Dedicated Cardiothoracic anesthesia support
- Collaborative ICU team
- Epic EMR
Requirements
- Board Certified – Required
- Adult Cardiac Surgery experience – Required
- Impella support – Required
- Structural Heart support – Required
- BLS – Required
- Kentucky license preferred; willing to license
- Clean professional history – Required
