Locum-to-Perm - Atlantic City, New Jersey, General Outpatient Neurology Opening

Start Date: ASAP
Expected Duration: Ongoing until a permanent neurologist is hired
Reason for Opening: Maintain patient access and continuity of care during permanent recruitment

Coverage & Setting:

• Practice Setting: 100% Outpatient Clinic
• Consistent weekday coverage needed across 3 locations
• Provider will be assigned to one location per day
• Site rotation will be coordinated in advance based on patient access needs and provider availability
• Full-time availability preferred
• Minimum commitment of 3 consistent days per week required
• Multiple providers will be considered
• No teaching or leadership responsibilities

Schedule & Call Requirements:

• Monday–Friday: Approximately 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• No inpatient coverage
• No night, weekend, or holiday call
• No call required

Patient Volume & Demographics:

• Approximately 14–18 outpatient patients per day
• Approximately 3–5 new patients and 10–13 follow-up patients daily
• Additional time allowed for complex new-patient evaluations
• Adult: 60%
• Geriatric: 40%

Clinical Scope:

• Evaluate and manage new and established general neurology patients
• Common conditions include headache/migraine, seizure disorders, neuropathy, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, cognitive disorders, and post-stroke follow-up
• Review diagnostic imaging, laboratory results, and outside medical records
• Order appropriate diagnostic testing and manage medications
• Coordinate care with primary care providers, APPs, specialists, and the neuroscience team
• Complete documentation, patient messages, test-result review, and follow-up responsibilities
• Must be comfortable providing independent outpatient coverage across multiple locations

Support & Systems:

• EMR: Cerner/Oracle Fusion
• Collaborative care with APPs, specialists, primary care providers, and neuroscience team

Requirements:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology – Required
• Active, unrestricted New Jersey medical license or ability to obtain
• Active DEA and New Jersey CDS required prior to start
• BLS – Required
• Ability to provide consistent adult outpatient general neurology coverage
• Willingness to rotate among 3 locations
