Brattleboro, Vermont, Hospitalist Opening
Permanent Position
Start Date: October 2026
Reason for Coverage: Daytime Hospitalist staffing need
Coverage & Setting:
- Inpatient/Hospital-based Hospitalist coverage
- 100% adult inpatient and observation population
- Level III Trauma setting
- Approximately 15–20 patients per day
- Weekday patient load is shared with an experienced NP
- No teaching or leadership responsibilities required
- No procedures required
Schedule:
- 7–10 shifts per month
- 12-hour shifts: 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
- Provider remains onsite in the hospital throughout the shift
- Weekend coverage expected
- Monthly shifts may be divided into 2 blocks
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Inpatient admissions and management
- Respond to codes and rapid responses
- Management of step-down level patients
- Ventilator management experience – Preferred
Support & Systems:
- Friendly and supportive nursing staff
- Collegial working relationship with Emergency Medicine and surgical teams
- Strong Case Management team supporting the discharge process
- Experienced overnight Hospitalist physician team
- EMR: Cerner CommunityWorks
Requirements:
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with Hospitalist experience – Required
- Active Vermont license or willingness to obtain – Required
- Minimum 1–2 years of comparable adult inpatient/Hospitalist experience – Required
- 1–2 years of dedicated Hospitalist experience – Preferred
