Obstetrics and Gynecology Locum Tenens Opportunity - Hobbs, NM

Position Overview

RecruitWell is seeking an experienced Obstetrics and Gynecology physician for a locum tenens position at Covenant Hobbs Hospital in Hobbs, New Mexico. This is a long-term vacancy coverage opportunity starting January 2027 on an ongoing basis. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently in a low-volume clinic setting with approximately 40 deliveries per month.

Key Responsibilities

Coverage Type: Inpatient and Outpatient

Schedule Type: Clinic and Call

Call Type: 24-Hour Beeper Call with 20-minute response time required

Weekly Schedule: Monday-Friday plus weekend call

Clinic Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-10:00 AM and 1:00 PM-3:00 PM (no Friday afternoon clinic)

On-call Hours: 24-hour beeper call between 7:00 AM-7:00 AM daily

Minimum Shifts Required: 10-20 shifts per month

Patient Encounters Per Shift: 12-13

Provider will work independently managing both inpatient and outpatient obstetric and gynecologic care

Candidate Requirements

Active medical license required in New Mexico

Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (BC only)

Current DEA registration required

BLS certification required

Current CV must be uploaded with bid

Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges not available

Experience working independently in a clinical setting essential

Comfort managing low-volume obstetric cases with approximately 40 deliveries per month
