Position Overview
Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center is seeking a General Surgery Physician for locum tenens coverage. This is a call-only inpatient position providing supplemental surgical coverage at a 4-level trauma facility. The provider will be on 24-hour beeper call during the assignment period.
Key Responsibilities
24-hour beeper call coverage for general surgery
Inpatient surgical case management
Patient encounters of approximately 4-5 per shift
Call response time requirement of 20 minutes
Phone consultation availability
Candidate Requirements
Active Alaska medical license required
Board Certification in General Surgery (Certified minimum)
Active Alaska DEA registration
BLS certification
ACLS certification
ATLS certification
Current CV required with bid submission
Clean file status only - no settlements, DUIs, drug issues, restrictions, terminations, or Medical Board actions
