Nurse Practitioner - Neonatology Locum Tenens Opportunity - Marquette, MI
Position Overview
LifePoint Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Neonatology for a locum tenens position at UPHS-Marquette in Marquette, Michigan. This is a scheduled clinical hours plus call assignment starting November 18, 2026, with potential for ongoing 10-14 days per month. The position involves 6am-6pm in-facility hours with 6pm-6am on-call coverage.
Key Responsibilities
Management of Level III NICU patients including:
Respiratory Distress Syndrome
Pulmonary Hypertension
Pneumothorax
Sepsis
Seizures
Very Low Birth Weight (VLBW) infants
Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS)
Stabilization of surgical cases for transport
Clinical procedures and skills required:
Intubation and ventilator management including oscillators and inhaled nitric oxide (iNO)
Chest tube placement
Placement of central lines
Paracentesis
Spinal taps
Exchange transfusion
Thermal cooling
Approximately 10 patient encounters per shift with 2 average phone consultations. Rounding on assigned patients with call response time of 15 minutes.
Candidate Requirements
License and Certification:
Licensed in Michigan
Board Certified in Neonatology (Preferred) or Board Eligible
NRP Certification
PALS Certification
Education and Experience:
Advanced Practice Provider with Neonatology specialty
Proficiency in neonatal critical care procedures and ventilator management

NICU Environment and Resources:
Established NICU since the early 1970s with highly knowledgeable and skilled RN staff with strong clinical teamwork
Respiratory Therapy as an integral team member supporting conventional ventilators, oscillators, iNO, CPAP, and high-flow cannulas
New hospital facility as of 2019
3-6 registered nurses and 2 office staff members
Available Diagnostics and Technology:
Full diagnostic equipment including MRI, CT, and EEG
Cerner Electronic Health Record System
Specialist Support and Consultation:
General Pediatrics
Pediatric Neurology
Infectious Disease
Contracted consultation with University of Michigan Cardiology and Ophthalmology
Available consultation with Neonatologists at Mott Children's Hospital, DeVos Children's Hospital, or Children's Hospital of Wisconsin
Mott Children's Hospital typically manages surgical interventions requiring transport
