Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology Physician Opportunity - Richlands, VA
Position Overview
LifePoint Health is seeking an Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology Physician for Clinch Valley Health in Richlands, VA. This is a Locum Tenens position offering scheduled clinical hours plus call coverage for an ongoing vacancy as part of a long-term permanent search. The position is available ASAP and is ongoing in nature.
The practice utilizes Athena and Meditech EMR systems and serves both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities
Perform procedures in the Endoscopy Suite on Mondays, Wednesdays, half of Thursdays, and Fridays
See patients in the office on Tuesdays and half of Thursdays
Take night call every night with a 30-minute response time requirement
Round on patient consults in the hospital
Manage 20-25 patient encounters per shift
Handle 1-2 average phone consults and see 1-2 average patients during call
Overtime calculated after 40 hours (not daily)
Candidate Requirements
Licensed in Virginia
Board Certification Eligible in Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology
Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges available
Approximately 30 days estimated credentialing time
CV/Resume required for bid submission
Vendors responsible for obtaining and submitting all pre-hire requirements including background check and drug screen
Medical Staff Services/CVO will conduct separate background screening and credentialing reviews
Facilities may impose various administrative, credentialing, or enrollment-related fees; all fees are vendor responsibility
