Obstetrics and Gynecology Locum Tenens Opportunity - Hickory, NC
Position Overview
Frye Regional Medical Center is seeking an Obstetrics and Gynecology physician for urgent locum tenens coverage. This is a call-only position with no clinic responsibilities. The primary coverage need is August 27, 0700 through August 31, 0700, with additional availability August 14, 0700 through October 5, 0700. This is an inpatient practice setting utilizing the Cerner EMR system.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 24-hour call coverage, 7am-7am, with no clinic responsibilities
Respond to beeper calls with a 30-minute response time requirement
Manage approximately 3 patient encounters per shift and 4 phone consultations
Perform patient contact work during call hours (approximately 10% hands-on percentage)
Document all patient contact hours, call back hours, and overtime hours with supporting clinical notes on timesheet entries
Round on assigned patients as needed
Maintain call ratio of 1:3
Ensure all documentation clearly specifies the reason for call backs to support audit validation
Candidate Requirements
Active North Carolina medical license required
Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (Board Eligible minimum)
Clean history to obtain emergency privileges
Current ACLS certification required
Current BLS certification required
CV/Resume required
