Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician Opportunity - Marquette, MI
Position Overview
LifePoint Health is seeking a locum tenens Obstetrics and Gynecology physician for UPHS-Marquette in Marquette, Michigan. This is a scheduled clinical hours plus call position covering an inpatient obstetric service. The assignment begins May 28, 2026, with an initial orientation period followed by ongoing assignments.
Key Responsibilities
Orientation and Initial Schedule:
May 28 (8a-4p) Orientation
May 29 (7a) - June 1 (7a)
July 24 (7a) - July 27 (7a)
Ongoing assignments available
Call Responsibilities:
24-hour call, all-inclusive coverage
Arrival within 30 minutes of initial contact to ED or OB unit for emergency conditions or changes in labor progression as noted by nursing staff
Must be seen by attending physician at any time clinically warranted, and within 12 hours after admission to L&D
Respond to ED and L&D calls within 10 minutes
Average of 8 calls per 24-hour period (approximately 55 per week)
Clinical Duties:
Manage approximately 370-380 deliveries per year for OB service (unit total of 450 includes FM groups)
Provide supervision and teaching to FM residents and 3/4th year medical students
Round on both assigned and unassigned patients (FM residency typically manages unassigned patients)
Work with 6-8 RNs per day
Approximately 4.3 patients per day in clinical encounters
Candidate Requirements
Licensure and Certification:
Active Michigan medical license required; IMLC license not acceptable
Board Certification: Certified or board-eligible status required
Optional Certifications (Encouraged):
ABLC
ACLS
ATLS
BLS
PALS
Additional Requirements:
Completion of Conscious Sedation module if privileges for conscious sedation administration are requested (available at facility at no cost)
Credentialing timeline: approximately 60 days
