Position Overview

Wilson Medical Center is seeking an Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician to join the approved provider pool for ongoing locum tenens coverage. This is a call-only position with beeper coverage in an inpatient setting. The site is looking to add experienced providers to ensure the unit remains open with strong unit and provider support.

Duration: Ongoing

Key Responsibilities

Patient Encounters:

• 3-8 patient encounters per shift
• 3-5 average patients seen per assignment
• Approximately 5 phone consultations

Call Coverage:

• Call ratio of 1:4
• 15-minute call response time required
• Hands-on percentage: 25%
• 4 average admissions
• Both inpatient rounding and call coverage

Required Skills:

• Must have current experience with circumcisions
• Active North Carolina License required
• Clean history mandatory

Candidate Requirements

Licensing and Credentials:

• Active North Carolina Medical License required
• Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology - Board Eligible minimum
• Fellowship preferred

Certifications and Training:

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required

Additional Requirements:

• Clean background and history
• Successful background check and drug screen (vendor responsibility)
• Medical Staff Services and Credentials Verification Organization (CVO) credentialing and privileging approval required
