Position Overview
Flowers Hospital in Dothan, AL is seeking a General Surgery Physician for a locum tenens call-only position. This assignment runs from October 9-11, 2026, starting at 7am CST on 10/9 and ending at 7am on 10/11. The role focuses on inpatient consults and emergency room coverage with no clinic responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Cover inpatient consults and emergency room
Round on assigned inpatient consults
Provide general surgery consultation and care
Respond to beeper calls with 30-minute response time requirement
Manage approximately 20 patient encounters per shift
Handle approximately 10 average phone consults
Candidate Requirements
Board Certification: Eligible or better in General Surgery
License: Must be licensed in AL or hold IMLC certification
Certifications: ACLS and BLS required
EMR: Experience with Cerner system preferred
Credentials: 30-day credentialing timeline required
