Position Overview
Community Health Systems is seeking an Obstetrics and Gynecology physician for a locum tenens call-only position at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer, Alaska. This is an ongoing opportunity beginning July 21, 2026, providing emergency call coverage with beeper-based communication. The role involves inpatient care in a Level 3 trauma facility setting.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to emergency calls with a 30-minute response time
Manage approximately 5 patient encounters per shift
Conduct 5 average phone consultations
Participate in rounding activities (both inpatient and outpatient)
Perform hands-on care approximately 40% of the time
Handle approximately 2 patient admissions during shifts
Provide call coverage with 100% call ratio
Candidate Requirements
Active medical license in Alaska or IMLC membership required
Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (Eligible minimum)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Emergency credentialing capability
CV/Resume required for submission
