Obstetrics and Gynecology Locum Tenens Opportunity - Granbury, TX
Position Overview
Lake Granbury Medical Center, part of Community Health Systems, is seeking an Obstetrics and Gynecology physician for locums coverage beginning in January 2026. This is an ongoing call-only position providing weekend coverage subject to the availability of other local OBGYNs. Physicians can expect 9-10 call days per month, with each call shift running from noon on Friday through 7:00 AM Monday. The current need includes sporadic weekends throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities
Provide inpatient obstetrical and gynecological care during assigned call periods
Manage 2-4 patient admissions per shift
Handle 2-4 patient encounters per shift with 80% hands-on care
Conduct 5-7 average phone consultations per shift
Perform both inpatient rounding and consultation work
Respond to beeper calls within 30 minutes
Work collaboratively with 3-4 nursing staff members
Candidate Requirements
Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (Certified minimum)
Current license to practice in Texas
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
EMR proficiency with Athena/Medhost systems
Estimated credentialing time: 30-45 days
Temporary privileges available during credentialing process
Call ratio: 1:3
