Locums – Richmond, Midlothian, Glen Allen. Virginia, NP/PA Urgent Care Openings

Clinical Role

• Start: ASAP upon credentialing
• Coverage: 3 shifts per week until permanent providers are hired
• 3 full-time providers needed; approximately 9 shifts per week total
• 100% outpatient urgent care
• No call
• Local candidates only
• Patient population ranges from pediatric through geriatric

Assignment Details

• Schedule: Clinics open 7 days per week, 8:00 am-8:00 pm
• Shifts: 12+ hours depending on patient flow; providers are expected to see patients arriving during operating hours
• Patient Volume: Approximately 25-50 patients per day, with potentially higher volume during cold and flu season
• Setting: Outpatient clinic
• Responsibilities/Procedures: Laceration repair including suturing/stapling, I&D with packing, foreign body removal, minor burn and skin lesion care, splinting/casting, joint reduction, X-ray interpretation, EKG evaluation, point-of-care lab interpretation, epistaxis management, cerumen removal, nebulizer treatments, and initial emergency stabilization
• Higher-acuity patients requiring advanced care are transferred to the ED
• Point-of-Care Testing: Strep, flu, COVID-19, RSV, urinalysis, and blood glucose
• EMR: Epic
• Requirements: Board Certified NP/PA
• Active Virginia license required
• Active BLS and DEA required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an ED/ER, primary care, or urgent care setting required
