Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Locum Tenens Opportunity - Kirksville, MO
Position Overview
Community Health Systems is seeking 7 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) for a locum tenens position at Northeast Regional Kirksville. This is a scheduled clinical hours plus call assignment with an ongoing end date, starting ASAP. The role involves medical direction support, with CRNAs serving as backup call to the attending physician. CRNAs do not perform peripheral blocks and rarely perform epidurals. This is an inpatient practice setting utilizing paper charting.
Key Responsibilities
Provide anesthesia services as backup support to the attending physician for OR cases and OB procedures
Work exclusively under medical direction; CRNAs never work alone
Respond to backup call within 30 minutes when needed
Maintain an active Controlled Substance Registration (CSR)
May be asked to provide backup call coverage
Scheduled shifts are 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM with potential call responsibilities
Candidate Requirements
Current CRNA certification with board certification (eligible or certified)
Active Missouri state nursing license
Active state DEA number
Active BNDD (Controlled Substance Registration)
Active ACLS certification
Must be contracted with the agency prior to placing a bid
Must be located 90+ miles from facility
Fellowship preferred
Temporary privileges available; hospital privileges not required
Organizational Highlights
Community Health Systems operates Northeast Regional Kirksville, located at 315 S. Osteopathy, Kirksville, MO 63501. The facility observes the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Insurance is provided by vendor. Orientation up to 250 hours is allowed. Call coverage includes nightly call and 24-hour call options. No overtime rate is available for this assignment.
