Oncology Physician Opportunity - Covington, LA
Position Overview
Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Classic Benign Hematologist to join its expanding, multi-specialty group practice in Covington, Louisiana. This is a permanent placement opportunity at Ochsner Medical Center - St Tammany Cancer Center, the leading clinical oncology program in the Gulf South Region.
Ochsner MD Anderson is one of only seven MD Anderson Cancer Center partners in the country and the only one in Louisiana. Patients receive care based on the same protocols and practice standards provided at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas, with integration with its clinicians and researchers.
Key Responsibilities
Sub specialty and multi-disciplinary approach to patient care
Weekly call rotation shared with physicians in the region
Hospital consultant practice
Access to support from specialists throughout the Ochsner Health System
Research and teaching opportunities available
Outpatient clinical practice utilizing Epic medical record platform
30-minute call response time requirement for 2nd call/backup coverage
Candidate Requirements
Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Hematology required
Fellowship training required
BLS certification required
ACLS certification required
Louisiana medical license required
Hospital privileges required
LA Patient Care Fund coverage required for all physicians providing services at Ochsner facilities in Louisiana
Clean background and malpractice history required
